The Poetry Bus is a WV

So this week NanU wants us writing poems with those crazy word verification sneckerzoozles. What with school holidays and general laziness in all things I'm afraid I've used only one WV (and that only for the title). We'd been to the beach near here on Friday, the Girl and the Dog and I, and we found something like an elephant's toenail you see...

And now the tiny poem-type-thing:

Gulectio

Magnificent beast
On the beach I found your toenail
And other wonders there besides
The promises of mermaids
Some teeth of the deep

RF 2010

And now more photos (because I know some of you like stones...):

(Do elephants have toenails you may wonder... some answers over here.)

And don't forget - details of the next poetry and music event I'm organising are in the past two posts on this blog or just over here. It will be a crafty, swissy, rosy, singing Turnbull of a night!

Ooh, now I'm just wondering what a Gulectio actually looks like! Nice poem there, with the hint of mystery in it (there's something about the sea that's always hinting of mystery to me). I love stones, so very much enjoyed the pictures.

Poetry Bus Enthusiast RF: What a riot! I love this verifification poem with oceanic reference to a Gulectio. That magificient beast of the sea! I want one!Verifying a piece of my inherent need to know what exactly is a Gulectio. I can't wait to tell my friends! So ty ty ty for this nost important, abSOULutely necessary and required reading information!!!

I love stones - prefer them to Blake's grain of sand, but see the whole world in them at times. Yours are brilliant - and superbly presented.

The mystery of the beast... the mystery of the stones...ah, ha!

Yes, Dave... sand is not to be trusted (see back here).

A "Gulectio" toe sounds utterly poetic in itself. :)

And since Blogger is feeling silly today, my WV for you is "rante". :)

Title fits nicely and a good idea for the WV task.Cool poem too.I wonder what Mermaids promise? Never to wear trousers?

Ranting was me earlier this week, I think, Hope...

Mermaids was our Girl's addition really, TFE. She's a big believer in mermaids - eternally disappointed by our limited abilities...

ohhh, I like it. And that's a nifty rock you found.
Indeed there's some zippycool work coming out of the theme. Interesting how people are using many WVs and not just one, like a solitary jewel, or a sneak-in, like you. If I can get my brain on tonight I'll try one of each. Hate to miss my own bus!

Riding the WV Poetry Bus is quite the rage ... love your stones and your sea piece.

(funny how eyes play tricks ... I drive a VW and for the longest moment saw VW and not WV)

That is an elephant's toe nail if ever I saw one.
Like the poem too. It gives me quite a flestom to read it.

Zippycool indeed - hi NanU, hi Helen.

And Weaver...you are really getting into this one. I think you may be the WV Queen!

Beautiful, pared.

And I love the stone!

I don't think I brought the stone home with us... in fact I'm sure I didn't. I left it for someone else to write about another time, I suppose...

Ahhhhh - the mighty and mysterious Gulectio, lesser spotted. Truely the king of the beachbeasts.

Rachel Fox said...

Hi Erratic, thanks for looking in.

And Padhraig...yes, and I've spent all this Bus trip trying to avoid making bad fellatio gags...as it were.
