Nelson and the water

So... a quick post. No time for rambling...

You know Helena Nelson? Ms HappenStance publishing? Poet? Co-star of the poetry event here in Montrose in April (tickets selling nicely, I'm pleased to say)? Well, I found a poem of hers at the Herald's website this week (here) and I really enjoyed it. So go and have a read. Go on...

According to the site 'Treasure (a homage to W H Davies)' is one of the poems in Nelson's new chapbook 'The Unread Squirrel' (and you can find out how to buy that here).

See how succinct I can be?

Cool - enjoyed that poem, and a very succinct post, should be a fun event in montrose if that's anything to go on

Incredibly succint, but did the job! Good one - must go on a snorkel search pronto.

Amusing poem and a neat looking little book,I like the title.

As for all that swimming malarkey , I never get my snorkel out in public.

Very succinct, you must be busy.

I found and watched Bright Star last night and really liked it. My one criticism is that the look – all that lovely painted panelling, the couch with the print cover, and the muslin curtain with its grey hem – usurped the story. I did cry quite a lot though, and I like a good cry.

Busy? Yes. Off out today. Stacked logs all day yesterday (don't ask...).

Isn't not having much story almost the definition of an 'art' film though Eryl? And 'Bright Star' had more than many. As much as anything I found it a slice of life (and mood) of the period (particularly the women's lives). And yes, a good cry - you can't beat it!

And after being talked into watching possibly the anti-thesis of an art film last night (the newest Star Trek...) I say bring on the slow, period dramas...

I am going to have to stop calling here because you keep directing me to things I want to read, and places I want to go but can't get to. Mum bought my Don Patterson's book for christmas and I just love it.
thanks for sharing

Paterson is doing a lot of readings just now, Martine. Maybe he will get down your way some time soon!

And yes, I have been enjoying 'Rain' too.
