Marker oak for the Tour de France? (which is probably at some famous place on the Tour but I'll have to consult with "I love Lance" eldest son - if this is anywhere near right).

Looks very much like the 'starburst' shell sign of the Camino to me, but I can't seem to enlarge it to be absolutely sure. If I'm right, then it must be somewhere on the Paris/Tours route - though normally this is very poorly signposted?

SW you are warmest re subject...this one was for you really. You're too far north though. Our hosts said we were mean not to give more clues but we said you all liked a challenge!

Oh!

Well, if I'm too far west, that must mean it's the part of the Chemin St Jacques from Reims to Vezelay?

And near a field. By a tree. Obviously.

PS Tes hospitaliers sages avaient raison.

Getting closer SW. Vezelay is part way there.

This tree is over 500 years old - an oak on the pilgrim route very slightly west of Charite sir Loire.
