I'm working on a post just now that is giving me a headache. Why am I working on a post and not some other form of writing? It's all connected. Also Mark is away so I have to get up earlier and be that bit more responsible and organised. Oh yes...just thinking about increased responsibility makes my head pound!
Anyway, while I sort myself out here's a bit of comedy I came across when I was looking for clips for my Xmas TV comedy post in December. I didn't think this was very suitable for that particular post...you'll see what I mean.
I LOVED Dave Allen when I was a kid and I now realise he was a role model of a sort. I'm pretty sure that somewhere in my lazy, hedonistic soul I saw him on TV and thought 'he gets paid to sit there and talk and drink' (and he smoked too a lot of the time of course). I'm still working on finding the job that lets me be Dave Allen (or something like him). The headache post is connected with that too. Bear with me.

Ah, now there we share a common factor: I too loved Dave Allen and still do. I loved the last bit: 'into the hole he goes,' I think all kids do that... mine was about a goat... :/
Speaking of strange wrd verfs, this one is hipsyco... what does that tell me..?
Interesting...
Of course growing up more or less Quaker I didn't see someone cross themselves until I was about 17. We went to a Catholic wedding (a cousin's) and I wondered what all the other side of the congregation were doing!
Enjoyed Dave, thanks :)
In ainm an Aithir, agus an vic agus an Spirit Niamh ... Amen :)

"Why am I working on a post and not some other form of writing?" is a question I often ask myself!
Dave! Either (a) we are blog junkies and/or (b) it's interesting communicating with each other in this form and we learn stuff from it all the time.

I loved Dave Allen and although he was fairly outrageous by the standards of his day he was never offensive. Thanks for this clip Rachel.
I know - I watched it again when I put it up last night and I laughed and laughed. His facial expressions are just perfect!

If any of you would like to mention your own role models I would be interested. They can be people you recognised as that when you were young or, like this one of mine, realisations that came to you later on. They can be positive or negative - I'm not putting together a positive role models for young people dossier or anything...
